just in two more hours i’m turning 20.

how fucking impressive is that?

i was so busy with university this week that had no idea at all. true. i was printing a big investigation me and 5 more guys from u had done, when i saw the cover date: june 18.

fuck, i thought, june 18 already? my birthday’s tomorrow!

yeah, that’s the story. what’s the point in it? no idea. just thought it was funny.

i knew there had to be something obscure with microsoft word. a small post at the cult of mac blog finnally explains the big file archives. an issue that goes back in time before ms dos…

interesting stuff.

this is a very nice fictional writing i just found in… uh… some site…

talks about google’s power. funny shit.

i’ve been reading some of Philip Horwitz’ weblog “caustic tech“, and i must say it’s fun. ok, so it’s not plain fun, you need some knowledge on tech and web to understand it, but it’s not that difficult. the thing is that his sarcastic but centered view at things is not only fun to read but very interesting.

a few quotes from it:

“it should also come as no great surprise that BlunderMan is also the most technically incompetent motherfucker on the planet. despite his alleged 17 yrs of experince, it’s obvious that this fucker doesn’t know his ass from his elbow.”

dealing with these guys is the easiest…write enough gibberish to fill exactly 3 pages – make sure it has words in bold, words in italics, and some kind of bulleted list. (if you really want to wow the bastard, use a chart or two). after these 3 pages, go to the nearest printer, rip about 700 or so sheets out of it, and then, carefully place the first 2 out of the 3 pages on top of that monster pile of 700 sheets, while putting the 3rd page on the bottom of those 700 sheets of fury. once this garbage with the printer paper is finished, your ready to make the drop. put the whole thing in a binder (they really like 3 ring binders), and drop it off at the desired date and time. that’s it! you’re done!!

i got it!

i am now the proud owner of a totally functional gmail bata account. and i had to do nothing for it. yeah, nothing.

remeber gmail swap? whell this guy gabriel flores contacted me and gave an invite for nothing.

so he now owns my eternal grattitude. for real.

now that the fight between rss and atom is cooling down a little, the next discussion is about ads coming within feeds. you can read a post and some comments frome the scobleizer.

i must say feeds are ideal for me because i can avoid things like ads, layouts, remembering individual uri’s, etc. and just focus in the content of what i want to read. if some of the feeds i read start putting ads on me, the original purposes will be lost. and those feeds deleted from my bloglines.

i am now into getting a gmail account, thanks to the gmail swap. would you like to share a gmail invite with me? ask for something in return.

yeah, just one more pointless post. i’m sick of this layout already… expect changes.

i was reading an interview to an argentinian musician made back in 2000, and he was so into the “think different” thing.

he kept saying things like “mac is a lifestyle” and “only those of us who think different use macs”. come on, wake up. computers are not religions. it’s obvious that if you use a certain os or chipset it is because you think that’s the best choice, but come to think that it may be the best choice for you, but not for everyone. or maybe it’s the best choice for a specific task, but not for others.

what i’m saying is that you could perfectly use windows xp at home, work with linux, use an ipod in the bus between them and have a girlfriend with a linspire notebook. there is no need for geek racism, we have enough of that in real life as to bring it to the virtual realms. please, if you want to think really different, think that a computer brand doesn´t make a person. after all, they are all companies looking to make money, steve jobs isn´t god, you know.

remember the blogspot jihad anyone? well, i’m doing kind of the same thing. but different. i’m offering friends of mine (and everyone that should be interested) helping them get away from fotolog.net and setting up a blogger acount (not sitting in blogspot, of course) where they could use the hello/bloggerbot sysstem to mantain a nice working photoblog. i will also make or help them make a cute w3c compliant layout of their own.

may anyone reading this be interested, you know how to contact me.

robert scoble wrote a nice article about linking other people blogs, i must say i agree on it. it’s nice to be linked. and it can also be really nice to be the linking one. so here’s a link for scoble.

yeah, pixelot’s new design job is going right. i’ve been hand coding it all and i must say i’ve learnt a lot about css and html.

i also did a small trick for not having t edit my temlate to add a link. just like blogrolling, but local. just couldn’t be easier: a links.js loaded with the links in a document.write style.

it’s raining a whole lot, just the pefect day for staying home and doing some coding, but i can’t. i’m not even home now… fucking, fucking university…

there’s a demo image of the probable future layout for pixelot, go check it out over there. click it for a larger view.

seems hello isn’t that much a marvel as it seemed on the beggining…

but i’ll test it some more before i say for sure…

[update]: no, hello works quite fine, just don’t leave any blank field when configuring it, it just selects random values and fucks your post.

now i’m pissed off with blogger, why the fuck does posts’ dates get lost? why? they lose their damn identity!

i’ve been trying to make a css based fully w3c standards compliant layout for pixelot (my photoblog), but it’s showing up harder than expected. i’ve used css for quite a long while, but completely relying on it is a whole new thing.

so i guess i’ll just use some tables mixed with css, as usual. i know that’s not what i’m suposed to do, acording to most (if not all) mainstream web designers, but it’s easier to do, and getting a layout for pixelot is an inmediate necesity. i just can’t go on using blogger’s template any longer. they work, use standards and all, but are just plain ugly. an, hell, i just want my own design on it.

just in case you where wondering, pixelot’s uri is http://neozen.evoex.com/pixelot.

yeah, my very own photoblog.

it’s online and working, but on a blogger template cause i still havnt made a layout for it.

i was thinking about making one using blogger’s capacities, but then i saw this blogger/hello thing and just had to. all really nice. let’s see how it works out.
